Future and Metro Boomin's 'We Don't Trust You' Makes History, Secures No. 1 Spot on Billboard 200

Future and Metro Boomin have once again proven their dominance in the music industry with their highly anticipated collaborative album, "We Don't Trust You," which has stormed to the top of the Billboard 200 chart. Debuting at No. 1 on the chart dated April 6, the album marks a significant milestone for both artists, securing Future his ninth No. 1 album and Metro Boomin his fourth.

The success of "We Don't Trust You" is staggering, with the album achieving the largest week by equivalent album units earned in 2024. The week ending March 28 saw the album amass an impressive 251,000 equivalent album units in the United States, driven primarily by streaming activity. This remarkable feat not only marks the biggest week of the year so far but also stands as Future's second-largest week ever and Metro Boomin's biggest week to date.

Breaking down the first-week unit sum, streaming equivalent album (SEA) units account for a staggering 245,000, equivalent to a staggering 324.31 million on-demand official streams of the album's 17 songs. Meanwhile, traditional album sales contribute 4,500 units, as the album was exclusively available for digital download through traditional retailers such as iTunes and the Amazon Digital Music Store. Additionally, track equivalent album (TEA) units make up 1,500 of the total.

"We Don't Trust You" not only marks a significant milestone for Future and Metro Boomin individually but also stands out as the largest week of 2024 and the biggest week ever for Metro Boomin. For Future, this week ranks as his second-largest ever, with his previous joint effort with Drake on "What a Time to Be Alive" securing 375,000 units in its opening week on October 10, 2015.

The album's streaming success is particularly noteworthy, with its SEA sum of 245,000 translating to a staggering 324.31 million on-demand official streams for its songs. This makes it the biggest streaming week for any album since Taylor Swift's "1989 (Taylor's Version)" amassed 375.49 million clicks for its 21 songs on the November 11, 2023 chart. Moreover, "We Don't Trust You" claims the title of the biggest streaming week for any album by Future or Metro Boomin.

Featuring an impressive lineup of guest artists including Kendrick Lamar, Playboi Carti, Rick Ross, Travis Scott, and The Weeknd, "We Don't Trust You" has captivated audiences since its release. The album's initial announcement on March 8 hinted at the beginning of a two-album project, with the sequel set to drop on April 12.

Despite initially keeping fans guessing about the featured artists, "We Don't Trust You" was met with widespread acclaim upon its release on March 22. The album's tracklist was later updated to reveal the star-studded lineup, further fueling anticipation among fans.

One standout track from the album, "Like That," featuring Future, Metro Boomin, and Kendrick Lamar, emerged as the most-streamed song of the week. With Lamar delivering fiery verses that seemingly take aim at fellow artists Drake and J. Cole, the track sent social media into a frenzy, further solidifying the album's status as a cultural phenomenon.
